This system is intended to treat well water with iron less than 10.0 mg/L. The Sterling Water Conditioner (ICT-20) Sediment Filter and Granular Activated Carbon Filter combine to treat hardness, taste, odor, chlorine and aid in the removal of sand, silt and particulates to provide your entire home with great water. The whole house iron filter will aid in the removal iron and reduce iron staining. In addition to bacteria (E. coli), virus. algae. mould and others, UV systems are effective against protozoa such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia lambia. Includes:

The following water quality and installation standards for an Ultraviolet Disinfection System are:
- No Sulfur
- No Turbidity or other Filterable Solids
- No greater than 0.3ppm of Iron
- No greater than 0.05ppm of Manganese
- No excessive Hardness (Where total hardness is less than 7gpg, the UV unit should operate efficiently provided the quartz sleeve and/or sensor probe is cleaned periodically. If total hardness exceeds 7gpg, the water should be softened).
- A flow restrictor must be installed for the flow rating and disinfection requirements that the application requires.
- The system must be sized based on the projected flow rate needed for the proper functioning of plumbing systems.
- All germicidal 254nm bulbs are rated for a service life of approximately 9,000 hours (one year is 8,760 hours), and even though they can remain lit for a much longer period of time, their intensity and disinfection capacity are greatly reduced.
